Alodrink review: ‘Alo Coco Exposed’ (Aloe & Coconut water)

This brand is popping up everywhere so we thought it was about time to test what Alodrinks has to offer in the world of Aloe Vera drinks…

With such a wide range of products to choose from, we were torn with what to try, but we opted for their ‘Alo Coco Exposed’ range and chose their Peach and Kiwi flavour.  This range contains a blend of Aloe Vera Juice and also contains the added benefit of coconut water (another favourite in the health drinks industry – read more about coconut water in Aloe Vera in the News- Daily Mail article).

Taste & Consistency – 4.5 / 5

Consistency: Alo have used the inner leaf gel in their products, giving it a great juice-like consistency.  It is not the most  inner leaf gel that we have seen in any product, as it is clearly combined with the coconut water, which makes it less dense.

Taste: With so many tastes going on, you do lose that Aloe Vera quality, but the coconut water, combined with the flavours of peach and kiwi make it an extremely pleasant Alo drink.

Health benefits – 4/5

The Alo website provides lots of interesting and informative information on the health benefits of Aloe Vera. Here’s what they have to say about the ingredients in this particular product:

  • Aloe vera: Ancient healer filled with vitamins, minerals and essential amino acids.
  • Coconut water: Potassium-rich, boosts energy and endurance, isotones for body restoration.
  • Peaches: High in fiber, fat free and contains essential vitamins like A, C and E.
  • Kiwis: Stacked with beta-carotene, flavonoids and has more vitamin C than an orange.

Value for money – 4/5

We’ve found that a single bottle (500ml) costs around £2.50 in the UK and a suggested serving is 240ml (roughly half a bottle).  With this in mind, each serving costs around £1.25.  While it sounds cheap, when we compare it to our highest rated product – Forever bits ‘n’ peaches – which contains over 16 servings per bottle (based on their suggested 60ml serving), working out at £1.41 retail but this can become less than £1.00 per serving, if you sign up to Forever Living: we can help get you signed up and get your Forever Living products at a 30% discount.

Overall – 4/5

This is one of the best Aloe brands we have found so far and it serves as a great alternative to your standard bottled drinks. It would make a great addition to a summer picnic.  We love the taste – you should definitely try it!
